TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH COMMUNICATION
Basic Complete Community Radio Station Package -TOTAL: (excl. shipping and customs) £1800
This system contains all the equipment needed to start broadcasting, plus a few extras:
A 6 channel mixing console, which allows 2 mics and 4 stereo audio sources (eg a CD player, cassette player or computer) to be plugged in and mixed or broadcast simultaneously.
2 CD/Mp3 players, which allow 2 pieces of music or other programming to be mixed together, or played seamlessly one after the other.
2 Portable Mp3 recorders, which allow 2 reporters to be out making recordings in the field simultaneously. Recordings can be transferred to a laptop or played back directly on the air.
A 40 Watt transmitter and half wave stacked dipole 3.7dB gain antenna, which provide sufficient power to broadcast to a range of 25km, depending on the height of the antenna, and the terrain of the local area.
And a lot more!
The equipment in this system is suited to a radio station with two rooms:
A Control Room, where the mixing console, other broadcast equipment is installed, used to engineer recordings and live broadcasts.
A Recording Room, where the radio presenter and guests are located.
The studio equipment could all be housed in one room, which would allow the radio host to also have control of the rest of the equipment.
With either arrangement, the transmitter should be housed in a separate room, as it has a loud fan which could be picked up by the microphones, and because the closer the transmitter is to the studio equipment, the more likely it is that feedback might be introduced into the system.

This cassette recorder allows you to record for 6 hours onto a single 90 minute cassette. Useful for recording your broadcasts, which is a requirement under community radio licensing law in many countries.
2 Portable Digital Recorders
These allow recordings and interviews to be made in the field and brought back to the studio to be broadcast. They have a built-in mic, and an input to connect an external mic and a headphone jack. Files can be transferred onto a PC or played back directly on air.

2 Studio Headphones
These high-quality studio headphones allow the presenter and one host to monitor what is being broadcast. This make and model produce quality sound and will last for a long time in tough conditions.
Limiter/Compressor
This device is not essential, but useful to ensure that the sound being broadcast is not too quiet or too loud. It helps makes your station sound more professional.
40 Watt FM Transmitter
Connecting this 40 Watt Transmitter with a 3.7dB gain Antenna will provide on average of 100 Watts ERP. The transmitter can be supplied as mono or stereo.
SWR/Power Meter
Not essential, but useful for monitoring the efficiency (SWR) and power of the system.
RG 213 or RG8 50 Ohm Coaxial Antenna Cable (40m)
It is important to choose the right cable, as a lot of power can be lost with the wrong cable. It is used to connect the transmitter, swr meter, lightning arrestor and antenna.
Lightning Protection
This consists of a small lightning arrester, fitted between the antenna and SWR Meter, and connected to a copper cable feeding to a copper rod buried into the earth.
Half-Wave Stacked Dipole Antenna The stacked dipole antenna gives a boost of 3.7dB to the power of the signal being broadcast. It must be attached to a 3-4 metre long metal pole with a diameter of 2550cm. This must be placed as high as possible, to cover as large an area as possible.

Professional 50 Watt Radio Station In A Box Package Deal -Limited Quantity
The Compact 50 Watt FM Stereo Radio Station Designed For Rapid Deployment!
LPFM and FM licensees, often need a way to quickly "get on-the-air" at either temporary field locations or in the interim to their installed studio transmitter locations. Municipal, government, and military users frequently need to get a radio station "up quick" to originate short term programming from various remote origination sites for disaster preparedness broadcasts! No matter what the application is, the PXB series of "Radio Stations in a Box" have proven to be the winner worldwide!
In fact, a number of PXB's were immediately deployed to the Hurricane Katrina areas to broadcast instructions and disaster relief information! Hundreds of PXB's have also been deployed to international locations worldwide. Radio stations are put on-the-air in minutes rather than days and when time is critical, that makes all the difference.
Each PXB is factory prewired and tested, and ready to go on-the-air the moment it is received! The compact PXB5006D1 is specifically designed for standard domestic use, or other locations where the primary power is 110/120VAC, 60Hz. If you are looking for an export version designed for 230VAC, 50Hz overseas use, order the PXB5006E1.
THE LATEST EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE, READY TO GO!
We know your station needs to be deployed quickly, and often in areas not exactly environmentally friendly to electronic equipment. When we design our PXB series of stations, our first criteria is reliability under the harshest conditions. Only equipment proven to withstand such an environment is utilized. From there it gets even more difficult!
We need to select the latest and most advanced equipment available, but it needs to be user friendly so the average non-technical or non-broadcast person can operate it! Once that fine balance is met, the equipment is tested and burned-in at full power to assure the reliability you need. You end up with the latest and the greatest equipment, racked up and ready to plug-in. There is no simpler way to get on-the-air!
50 WATTS OF COOL RUNNING RF POWER!
The heart of the PXB50 series is the popular Ramsey PX50 FM Stereo Transmitter. The third generation transmitter designed around our broadcast customers requests! In short, it is the FM stereo transmitter that will keep you up and running, period! Operation is simple and intuitive via the front panel navigation switch matrix. All controls and status messages are displayed on the 2 line by 20 character vacuum fluorescent display. Automatic protection circuits are designed to keep you on the air, rather than off. And the extremely efficient quiet forced cooling will keep you running in the hottest environments while remaining quiet enough for a local microphone at the transmitter! And of course, the PX50 is FCC Certified under parts 2, 73, 74.
CD, MP3, CASSETTE, AUX, AND MULTIPLE MICROPHONE INPUTS!
The PXB5006 is not only your transmitter, but your entire studio... all in an extremely compact 6 rack unit road case! A single half-rack Shure stereo audio mixer gives you instantaneous access to CD/MP3 optical discs, cassette tapes, two microphones, and other auxiliary sources you may have such as your Walkman or MP3 player! The other side half rack space is perfect for a matching Shure wireless microphone package available as an option.
The built-in Tascam CC222SL gives you efficient slot loading playback of audio CD's, CD-R's, CD-RW's, and MP3 data discs. It also provides automatic dual sided cassette playback. You can also record CD-R's with automatic track creation, record cassettes, and automatically dub between the two formats. Both sources can be mixed into your program with the compact Shure mixer.
HIGH PERFORMANCE FM ANTENNA SYSTEM!
There are three important factors to achieve maximum range with your FM broadcast system: antenna, antenna, and antenna! It doesn't get any plainer than that. So we include our extremely popular 3.4dB omnidirectional FMA200 antenna with the package.
This antenna can be easily assembled in the field, and is simple to tune to your operating frequency. And with 3.4dB gain, that effectively doubles your transmit power! The antenna is simple to mount to an existing structure, pole, pipe, tower or building. We also include 100 feet of low loss LMR400 feed line with pre-installed matching connectors that makes your antenna installation a breeze.
DUAL MICROPHONES, CABLES, STANDS, AND HEADPHONES!
To give your station and your broadcast personnel a great sound we include two professional dynamic hand-held microphones with each PXB package. These microphones feature a great cardioid pickup pattern, an on-off switch, a dual stage windscreen, and a custom hard-shell case. Two professional 18' XLR microphone cables are also included as are two professional weighted desk stands and microphone clips.
Two pair of professional Senheiser stereo headphones are also included, giving you everything you need to get two people on-the-air! If desired, a Shure SLX24SM58 UHF wireless microphone system can be added to the blank half-rack mixer panel without taking up any additional rack space!
COMPACT RACK ROAD CASE READY TO TRAVEL!
The entire station is assembled and prewired in a compact 6 unit rack case that measures 14" H x 22.25" W x 23" D overall. Lightweight molded polyethylene construction provides great protection for travel and is easily stackable with other similar cases. The cases utilize comfortable recessed side handles for easy transport along with locking front and back covers for added security. All equipment is professional wired, tested, and burned-in to assure the reliability you expect with your station. In short, just plug it in, connect your antenna, and you’re on-the-air! A professional Tascam CC222SL provides advanced playback of CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, and cassettes, and also provides CD-R and cassette record! Then, to provide an additional optical source, a Tascam CD160MKII is included giving you the flexibility of crossfading between separate CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3 discs! Needless to say, multiple microphone and aux sources can be mixed/faded between all sources. This includes quick portable sources like MP3 players, Walkmans, and iPods! We took care of extreme physical environment issues with the custom shock mounted road case. To protect the system from the volatile characteristics of temporary or sub-standard power sources a Furman PLProDEII professional power conditioner is used to distribute power to all rack equipment. Input voltage is displayed on a convenient front-panel LED display to assist in installation!
